Mighty Paw Calming Lick Pad

The Mighty Paw Calming Lick Pad is a flat silicone lick mat with 41 suction cups on the back. Spread a soft food across its four textured sections and stick it to the floor, a wall or a shower door, and your dog has something to work on while you bathe, groom or step away.

Who it suits

Dogs that push a loose lick mat around the room, and owners who want a mat that sticks to the tub wall at bath time. It is a licking pad, not a chew toy.

What reviewers say

Vetstreet names the Mighty Paw Dog Lick Pad its best lick mat with suction cups. It says the cups keep the pad in place so your dog cannot drag it through the house, likes the dishwasher-safe, BPA-free silicone and the four patterns, and lists the size as 9 by 5 inches. Its one con: strong dogs may still be able to dislodge it.

Pros and cons

• Pro: Suction cups hold it on a wall, floor or shower door
• Pro: Four textures in one pad
• Pro: Dishwasher safe silicone
• Con: Strong dogs may still pull it loose, per Vetstreet
• Con: Size is not listed on the brand page

Cautions

• Mighty Paw’s page gives no supervision or chewing guidance, so watch your dog and take the pad away if it starts chewing.
• Stop using it if the silicone is torn or bitten through.
• Use dog-safe spreads only; check that peanut butter contains no xylitol.
