Dr. Catsby’s Whisker Relief Stainless Steel Cat Food Bowl with Non-Slip Mat

Dr. Catsby’s Whisker Relief bowl is a wide, shallow stainless steel cat dish with angled sides and a silicone non-slip mat. It is built for cats that seem bothered when their whiskers touch the walls of a deeper bowl.

Who it suits

Cats that pull food out of their bowl, eat only from the middle or leave food at the edges, and owners who want a metal dish that goes in the dishwasher. It holds roughly one small can of wet food or a modest portion of kibble.

Key facts

• #304 food service grade stainless steel with a brushed finish (The Gadgeteer)
• One-piece bowl with a finger cutout and a silicone non-slip mat (Floppycats)
• About 7.2 x 7.3 x 1.2 inches, fits a 5 oz can, with 3 oz cans fitting better (Floppycats)
• Dishwasher safe (Floppycats)

What reviewers say

Floppycats said their cats used it right away and it washed well, though they wanted a second lifting cutout and noted the steel gets hot in the dishwasher. The Gadgeteer praised the build and how it keeps kibble centered, but found wet food could slip out and that a picky cat’s better appetite did not last.

Pros and cons

• Pro: Shallow, wide shape with room for whiskers
• Pro: Dishwasher-safe stainless steel
• Pro: Non-slip mat included
• Con: Wet food can slide over the low rim
• Con: Costs more than a basic shallow dish

Cautions

• Let the bowl cool after a hot dishwasher cycle.
• See your vet if your cat stops eating or eats much less, instead of relying on a new bowl.
