What reviewers say
Treeline Review: Jae Thomas, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, tested camping dog beds for Treeline Review with three dogs on car camping trips and dog friendly outings, plus abrasion and water spray tests (published 6 August 2026, updated 25 August 2026). The article does not say how the beds were obtained. This was the best elevated pick. The tester found it the easiest cot to put up and take down of any tried, said the tester dogs kept picking it over a mesh cot, and found it simple to carry along to breweries and parks. The microsuede top picks up dirt easily, it gives a little more in the middle than a mesh cot, and it can be bulky inside a small tent.
We did not test it ourselves.
Pros
- Fast setup with a one piece frame
- Light at 2.6 lb, packs into a shoulder bag
- Keeps your dog off wet or rocky ground
- Best elevated pick in a dog trainer’s hands-on test
Cons
- 70 lb limit, so not for giant breeds
- Microsuede top shows dirt
- Bulky in a small tent
Good to know
- Your dog has to step up onto it. Let a puppy, an older dog or a dog with sore joints try it at home first, and ask your vet if you are unsure.
- For cold nights the maker sells an insulated cover; a raised cot alone lets air move underneath.
