Key facts
- Coated steel pins on one side, nylon bristles on the other (Amazon listing)

- Small size for cats and small dogs, large size for large dogs (Amazon listing)
What reviewers say
YourBestDigs tested it on two dogs. The pin side detangled a border collie’s ruff calmly but did little for a terrier mix, and the bristle side gave a good shine. Cleaning trapped hair out of the bristles was the main chore. AKC notes in general that pin brushes work best as finishing brushes on long coats.
Pros and cons
- Pro: Two brushes in one
- Pro: Rounded pin tips
- Pro: Adds shine
- Con: Slow to clean
- Con: Not for undercoat
Cautions
- Brush gently with the hair growth and stop if skin reddens.
- On short coats, the bristle side is usually the better choice.
