Who it suits
Owners who drive to trailheads, camp or road trip and want one kit that covers both the person and the dog. It is too bulky for most day hikes, and two of its items are ones to leave unused unless your vet says otherwise.
Key facts
- Supplies for both you and your dog, housed in two waterproof DryFlex bags (Adventure Medical Kits)
- Comes with a pet first aid manual plus the Wilderness and Travel Medicine Guide (Adventure Medical Kits)
- Includes an emergency cold pack, a conforming bandage, a self adhering elastic bandage and a triangular bandage that the maker says can serve as a muzzle (Adventure Medical Kits)
- The maker’s list includes aspirin and hydrogen peroxide; Treeline Review notes that neither should be given to a dog unless a vet or animal poison control tells you to (Treeline Review)
What reviewers say
Treeline Review: Jae Thomas, a certified professional dog trainer, tested it with five other kits on hikes, road trips and dog sport events (guide dated September 2026). She found it thorough and a good size for the car or car camping, with supplies for both people and dogs, including a slip leash and vet wrap. She found it too bulky to hike with, hard to search because everything is packed into the inner bags, and expensive. Her kit listed aspirin but did not contain any, and she warns against using its hydrogen peroxide to make a dog vomit unless a vet or poison control service says to.
We did not test it ourselves.
Pros
- Covers people and dogs in one kit
- Waterproof inner bags
- Two printed first aid guides
- Slip leash and vet wrap included
Cons
- Too bulky for most hikes
- Contents crammed together
- Includes items that are not for dogs without vet advice
Good to know
- Do not give your dog the aspirin or use the hydrogen peroxide unless your vet or ASPCA Animal Poison Control tells you to.
- Suspected poisoning: call your vet or ASPCA Animal Poison Control, (888) 426-4435 (a fee may apply).
