TechGearLab: Kate Irvin’s team bought 12 cat toys and tested them with their cats (updated June 2023). Their tester cat loved the spring in the wire, and the cardboard rolls held up to her teeth; it also held up during 20 minutes of extreme play. They found the wire can bend easily in rough play or by accident and is hard to shape back, and the cardboard rolls cannot be replaced.

Cats.com: Katelynn Sobus bought and tested it with her own cats (updated July 2026) and named it her budget pick. Her cats loved chasing its bouncy, unpredictable movements around the house, but she found the thin wire may be hard for some people to hold, and thought her cats enjoyed it more than she did.
