Who it suits

Dogs with average or long noses that need a muzzle for walks, vet or groomer visits, or to stop scavenging, once they have been trained to wear it, and dogs whose owners want a softer basket than rigid plastic.

Key facts

  • Flexible silicone basket with soft, padded neoprene-lined straps (Coastal Pet)
  • Made to allow easy panting and drinking; water resistant for use in any weather (Coastal Pet)
  • Adjustable fit; six sizes, Extra Extra Small (01) to Extra Large (06) (Coastal Pet)
  • Sized by snout circumference just below the eyes and snout length from the nose tip to just below the eyes; measurements first, breed second (Coastal Pet sizing guide)
  • The maker describes it for temporary use to prevent biting (Coastal Pet)

What reviewers say

Whole Dog Journal: In a July 2026 roundup by Kate Basedow, a licensed veterinary technician who tried several muzzles on her own dogs (size 3 shown on a 43 pound Belgian Tervuren), it was her pick for comfort: the soft silicone basket still stops bites, leaves room to pant, eat and drink, has padded straps and was easier to fit on a long nose than many baskets. Her cautions: a determined dog might still nip, the cheek straps do not adjust, panting room can be tight depending on size and fit, and it may not suit extreme head shapes. The review does not say whether the muzzle was a maker sample.

We did not test it ourselves.

Pros

  • Soft, flexible silicone basket
  • Padded neoprene straps
  • Six sizes

Cons

  • Cheek straps do not adjust, per Whole Dog Journal
  • A determined dog might still nip; may not suit very short or very wide heads

Good to know

  • Supervise your dog whenever the muzzle is on. Cornell’s Riney Canine Health Center warns against leaving a muzzle on an unattended pet, since it can come off and be chewed or swallowed.
  • A muzzle does not change how your dog feels; for fear, biting or aggression, work with your vet and a qualified behaviorist.
