What reviewers say
Treeline Review: Sara Kruglinski, a professional dog sitter, tested dog water bottles for more than two months of daily walks, hikes, car rides and camping with eight dogs from 20 to 95 pounds (published June 2026, updated August 2026) and named this bottle Best Overall. It worked with every dog, was quick to learn, clipped to a leash or running belt, fit a car cupholder and did not leak when locked. Her complaint: the shutoff ring sits in the middle of the bowl, so it is hard to use without getting a little wet. The page does not say whether units were maker samples.
Whole Dog Journal: Jae Thomas, a dog trainer, trail-tested six bottles (April 2025) and picked this one as the best for hiking. Her Collie preferred it to a bowl, and it did not leak when tossed in bags over a three-day trip. She also disliked having to put her fingers in the water to turn the lock. The page does not say whether units were maker samples.
We did not test it ourselves.
Pros
- Picked as best overall by Treeline Review and best for hiking by Whole Dog Journal
- Did not leak when locked in either test
- Carabiner included; fits car cupholders, per Treeline Review
Cons
- Lock ring sits inside the bowl, so your fingers get wet, per both testers
- Squeeze style; shy drinkers may prefer a separate bowl, says Whole Dog Journal
Good to know
- On hot days, offer small amounts of water every 15 to 20 minutes, and not while your dog is panting heavily (RSPCA).
- Wash the bowl and bottle often; the maker says all pieces can go on the top rack of the dishwasher (Springland Pets).
