The Whisker Litter-Robot 4 is a self-cleaning litter box shaped like a globe. A few minutes after your cat leaves, the globe rotates, sifts the clumps out of ordinary clumping litter and drops them into a sealed drawer in the base.

Homes with one to four adult cats where daily scooping is hard to keep up with, and owners who want visit counts and weight trends in an app. It is a poor fit for tiny kittens, small rooms and very nervous cats.

What reviewers say
Engadget found it quiet and excellent at hiding smells after months with three cats, but ran into app pairing trouble, sensor faults and missed cycles, and said the cats took about a week to accept it. Cats.com liked the quiet sifting and per cat weight tracking, and noted urine sticking to the liner and that some cats still preferred an open box.
