What reviewers say
Cats.com: Katelynn Sobus built it herself and tested it with her own senior cats for Cats.com’s litter box enclosure guide (updated July 2025) and named it the best overall pick. Her largest cats, almost 20 pounds, used it easily because the doorway is fairly big and it fit their jumbo litter box. She liked the liner for easy cleaning and the drawer, which she used for harnesses. She found it fairly large for small spaces, and the included screwdriver started to strip, though she had her own tools.
We did not test it ourselves.
Pros
- Fits jumbo litter boxes and large cats, per Cats.com
- Entrance can go on either side
- Liner and storage drawer
Cons
- Large, so it will not fit every space, per Cats.com
- Included screwdriver was poor quality, per Cats.com
Good to know
- Most cats prefer an uncovered box, says the Cornell Feline Health Center (https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-behavior-problems-house-soiling). Keep at least one open box elsewhere while your cat gets used to the enclosure.
- Scoop at least once a day; an enclosure holds in smells, which can put a cat off the box.
- If your cat stops using the box, strains or goes more often, see your vet, as VCA advises ruling out medical causes first (https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/cat-behavior-problems-house-soiling).
