Who it suits
Dogs that enjoy learning to press a button and running to collect a reward, as an indoor game on very hot or cold days. Less suited to precise distance training.
Key facts
- Each press of the release button plays a sound and drops treats into the feeding tray; the maker suggests moving the button to another room to make the game harder (Arf Pets)
- Sold with two buttons, and the maker pitches it for dogs and cats (Arf Pets)
- Runs on batteries or plugs into the wall, and the hopper opening can be adjusted (Whole Dog Journal)
- Holds about 6 ounces of food (Whole Dog Journal)
What reviewers say
Whole Dog Journal: Jae Thomas, CPDT-KA, used it with her tester dogs for a guide published on 5 May 2025 and picked it, together with a near identical Petgeek model, for indoor exercise. The dogs had fun learning to hit the button and dash to the tray. She liked that it is light and can run on mains power. Her complaints: the hopper is hard to fill, the amount released swung from nothing to more than ten pieces, the sound comes from the button rather than the machine, and dogs knocked the light unit over. The review does not say whether the units were bought or sent by the makers.
We did not test it ourselves.
Pros
- Dogs can learn to work it themselves
- Batteries or mains power
- Fun indoor game in bad weather
Cons
- Number of treats per press is inconsistent, per Whole Dog Journal
- Light enough for dogs to knock over
Good to know
- Stay with your dog while it is in use, and put it away afterwards.
- Count the food it hands out as part of your dog’s daily amount.
