Who it suits

Puppies, seniors and everyday sleepers who like to rest their head on a raised edge, for owners who want a washable cover on a budget. Not for dogs that chew or dig hard at bedding.

Key facts

  • Contoured shape with a low step-on middle that FurHaven says is easy for smaller, older or disabled pets to get onto (FurHaven)
  • Three core options: orthopedic foam, memory foam top or cooling gel top (FurHaven)
  • Zippered cover can be machine or hand washed; the CertiPUR-US certified foam core is spot clean only (FurHaven)
  • FurHaven says it is not suitable for pets with heavy teething or destructive chewing (FurHaven)
  • Sizes run from Medium, about 30 x 20 x 5 inches, to Giant, about 58 x 42 x 9 inches (Whole Dog Journal)

What reviewers say

Whole Dog Journal: Jae Thomas, CPDT-KA (published June 5, 2025) assembled, washed and reassembled five washable beds with her own dogs and named this the best budget pick. She found the orthopedic foam more supportive than expected for a bed that is thinner in the middle, and liked the low center with a head rest for young and old dogs. Her caveats: the cover shed a little in the wash, felt thin, and was not the most durable of the beds she tried. The page does not say whether the unit was a maker sample.

We did not test it ourselves.

Pros

  • Low middle is easy to step onto
  • Removable, machine washable cover
  • Choice of three foam cores

Cons

  • Cover is thin and shed a little in the wash in Whole Dog Journal’s test
  • Foam core cannot go in the washer
  • Not for chewers or heavy diggers

Good to know

  • Only the cover goes in the washer; spot clean the foam and let it dry fully before you zip it back in (FurHaven, https://furhaven.com/products/shop-pet-beds-luxe-lounger-ultra-plush).
  • FurHaven says the bed is not for heavy chewers; supervise dogs that tear at bedding (https://furhaven.com/products/shop-pet-beds-luxe-lounger-ultra-plush).
  • For a dog with joint pain or trouble getting up, ask your vet what support they need.
