• 1080p Full HD video, 110 degree wide-angle view and 8x digital zoom (Petcube)

What reviewers say

Digital Camera World: Nick Lee reviewed it in January 2023 with his Lancashire Heeler puppy. He found it quick to set up, small and sturdy, with surprisingly good audio, but video quality was average, night images were hard to read, the app often dropped to 720p and the connection sometimes froze. Recordings triggered by sound and motion need a subscription, and the long cable is a snag risk with a curious puppy.

We did not test it ourselves.

Pros

• Small and sturdy, per Digital Camera World
• Quick setup
• Magnetic mount fits shelves and fridges

Cons

• No treat dispenser or rotation
• Average video and an unreliable app in Digital Camera World’s test
• Motion and sound recordings need a subscription

Good to know

• Keep the power cable out of reach of a puppy or a cat that chews cords; Digital Camera World flags it as a snag risk (https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/reviews/petcube-cam-review).
• A camera does not treat separation anxiety; if you see signs of distress, talk to your vet (https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/dogs/behaviour/separationrelatedbehaviour).
